Rhonda Kirk is an artist and art therapist/educator based in Melbourne, Australia. Self-taught in oil painting, she has been actively painting and exhibiting for over 20 years, with her primary focus large-scale figurative works. She is a thematic painter and for her the telling of a story, through pictures is very important. Kirk paints humanity at it’s most vulnerable, attempting to capture, on each canvas, ones pure moment of emotion. She exhibits both nationally and internationally and has painted well over eight hundred large works.
In addition to her art practice, Rhonda has extensive experience in trauma informed art therapy, working with children and young people. She has created and facilitated multiple art programs and workshops over the past 24 years, for a variety of organisations including MacKillop Education, The Justice Department working with Youth, RCH, DHHS Child Protection and multiple Primary and Secondary Schools. Through this work she has supported over 2000 young people to heal from the effects of trauma.
